Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s kin has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to unravel the mysterious disappearance of the freedom fighter. Chandra Kumar Bose, the grand nephew of Netaji, today said that they had written a letter to the new Prime Minister requesting him to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to study the mysterious disappearance of the nationalist leader, who was the number one enemy of the British government in post independent period. The letter, drafted from the Open Platform for Netaji, said a SIT should be constituted under the guidance of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court to investigate the matter. The SIT would include professionals from all relevant fields of expertise eg Central Home Department, Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of Intelligence, External Affairs Ministry, historians and researchers. The SIT would scrutinise all the declassified documents and interview/cross examine witnesses and concerned persons, the letter said. There have been many inquiry commissions to probe into his disappearance but they were either inconclusive or not accepted by the governments. If a SIT is formed under a sitting judge it will have the full authority and wide acceptance as it would be based on facts and evidences, the letter said.
