Armed Forces Tribunal sitting in Bangalore

Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) will hold its regular bi-monthly sitting here from July 28 to enable the litigants from Karnataka to file cases coming under the purview of the Armed Forces Tribunal Act.    The sitting will be held at Parachute Regimental Training Centre (PRTC) from July 28 to August One, except on July 29 due to Ramzan, according to a release here today.
The Tribunal has been set up under the provisions of Armed Forces Tribunal Act, 2007 for the adjudication or trial of disputes and conditions of service in respect of persons subject to the Army Act, the Navy Act and the Air Force Act and also to provide for appeals arising out of orders, findings or sentences of Court Martial held under the said Acts and for matters connected there with or incidental there to.
Retired persons including their dependents, heirs and successors can also approach this Tribunal, in so far as it relates to their service matters coming under the purview of AFT act.    Armed Forces Tribunal, Regional Bench, Kochi is having territorial jurisdiction over the States of Karnataka and Kerala and the Union Territory of Lakhshadweep.
