RCF motorsports in India from August 8-14

Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge( RCF) India 2014, the first ever international level off- road motorsports event will be held in India in Goa from August 8 to 14.    The event organised by Cougar Motorsports a member of the international nonprofit organization Tread Light is among the World’s top ten toughest and the most internationally represented motor races, has launched its India Chapter and approximately 30 teams, both domestic and international, are expected to participate and the contestants will cover over 250 km distance from South to North Goa over a period of six days competing in Special Stages set in natural terrain. The event is open to anyone with a road registered 4-wheel drive or an all-terrain vehicle (ATV).The challenge will be divided into four sections the Prologue, the Predator, the Terminator and the Twilight Zone. There will be 30 Special Stages (SS) divided between the four sections.    The SS will test driving and recovery skills in extreme off-road conditions. The winning team will get an automatic free entry in RFC mother event to be held in Malaysia later in the year.Since the event will be held in natural terrain, numerous measures have been taken by the event organisers to safeguard the environment and show the nature friendly side of the off-road community.    These initiatives include:    Adopting an environment charter (a first time initiative for an event in India) and setting up stringent guidelines for the participants wherein failure to adhere to the rules would result in the team being disqualified from the event; Hiring a Goa-based Environment Consultant to properly guide the Force Gurkha RFC India Team about the dos and don’ts; On  August 8, a Scrutiny of vehicles as well as briefing session for the participants will be held at the International Centra Goa(ICG), Dona Paula, followed by first few stages of the event on  August 9 and 10 will also be held at the ICG. Thereafter, the event will start moving from South to North Goa for further special stages before culminating in the form of a closing ceremony and prize distribution at the ICG on  August 14.    Only participants whose personal and vehicle insurances have been approved by the organising committee will be allowed to participate in the Special stages, the organisers added.
