Founder Chairman of Vibgyor School was  arrested by Bangalore Police at Daman in connection with sexual  assault on a six year old girl student on July 3.  Newly appointed City Police Commissioner M N Reddy told newsmen that Rustom Kerawalla was arrested yesterday at Daman  and he was being brought to the City.    He said that Kerawalla has been accused under Juvenile Justice Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, POCSO Act for an attempt to erase the evidence in the case and for neglecting the incident when parents complained about the incident.    The girl was allegedly raped by two staffers of the school on July 3 but it came to light on July 14 when the girl was admitted to Hospital where doctors revealed about sexual assault on her.    The main accused- Skating Trainer Mustaf alias Munna- was arrested yesterday by the City Police.

Replying to a question, Mr Reddy said Kerewalla was arrested  on charges of delaying reporting of the incident, hiding information and failing to take custody of the child after the incident.
To another question, Mr Reddy said there was no delay on the part of the Police. There is delay in filing complaint  and we have acted immediately and have arrested the main accused Mustaf and now the Founder Chairman.’    The school, which remained closed after the incident came to light and there were protests in front of the school by parents since July 15, started functioning from today. The school management has also held a meeting of parents and students.    Yesterday, Minister for Primary and Middle School Kimmane Ratnakar also held a meeting with parents and school management.    The incident had triggered state wide protests by parents, political parties, including BJP, various women organisations  and the issue had also rocked the ongoing Session of the State Assembly with the opposition parties staging dharna and walkout demanding resignation of Home Minister K J George for three days after the incident came to light.    The Karnataka Government has written to the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations to cancel the affiliation of Vibgyor School.
Following the protests, the Government also transferred City  Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar to KSRP as ADGP.
