Railway Police (GRP) today arrested a group of commuters who assaulted a woman Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) in a MRTS train today.
Ms Kausalya, TTE, of Secunderabad Division, who was on Train 47150 Falaknuma-Lingampalli MMTS service, was assaulted by some Ticketless passengers in the train near Begumpet Railway Station today, a SCR release said. The incident occurred when the TTE found that the group passengers were travelling ticketless and questioned them. The passengers assaulted the TTE in the train as it was nearing Begumpet. The woman TTE suffered minor injuries.
Amongst the group of passengers who assaulted the TTE, two women passengers were detained and a case has been registered by the Government Railway Police (GRP. Stringent action will be taken against the offenders after necessary investigations.
The Railway appealed to commuters not to obstruct the Railway authorities from discharging their duty.
