The Communist Party of India (Marxist) was attempting to sabotage murder case of a RSS/BMS activist using the Crime Branch Police, which probed the case after the local police investigation, BJP national Secretary P K Krishna Das today said. Talking to reporters here he said this was evident from Crime Branch probe officer E P Prtihivirajan submitting an affidavit to the Kerala High Court demanding a CBI investigation into the of activist Payyoli C T Manoj murder case of September 26, 2012. It was clear from the affidavit that the CPI (M) had hatched a conspiracy jointly with the Congress to sabotage the case in which the local police had arrested 14 accused, who are CPI (M) workers. Why the officer recommended a CBI probe when all the eye witnesses, including his wife, mother, children and neighbours identified the accused, he asked. No kith and kin the deceased had ever raised CBI probe into the case, he said. Stating the CPI (M) is expected to go to any extent to protect the accused, he said it was a clear indication from filing a public interest litigation by CITU man Sajid favouring a Central agecy probe. By agreeing the officer for the purpose, the State Home Department and Director General of Prosecution supported the CPI (M) to weaken the case, he alleged. Demanding disciplinary action against the police officer, he said recommending CBI probe into the case falsely quoting his mother, he had disgraced the department ‘by backing the accused.’
Earlier the accused had sought lie detection test apparently to create confusion, he added.
