Muslim Community in Kerala celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the culmination of fasting month of Ramadan, with pomp and gaiety.
Believers in large numbers thronged mosques at different places to offer prayers from Tuesday early morning. Prayers that started from 0700 hrs lasted till 0830 hrs. Religious leaders who addressed the gathering exhorted the believers to work for maintaining peace and communal harmony in the society. They also urged the community members to curtail celebrations in the wake of Israeli military action on Gaza where hundreds of people, including children, were killed. The devotees exchanged pleasantries by hugging each after the namaz.
