Kerala Fisheries Minister K Babu today said that the government had decided to ensure treatment to all cancer patients and free distribution of medicine upto primary health centres in the state. Inaugurating state-level operation of 25 labs, he said the decision of providing medical treatment to all was taken by the Chief Minister was based on the medical reports that over 50000 people were affecting the dreaded disease in the state.
Though there were lot of medical facilities in high tech hospitals, common men could not afford the huge treatment expenses and on this situation the government was introducing the facility in all 250 primary Health Centres, he said. Stating that the government’s policy was to make available better treatment to all, he said in the wake of increasing life-style diseases, the relevance of Lab tests were also stand one of the main factor.
