Sandip Pampally’s short film ‘Laadam,’ narrating trials and tribulations of an abandoned elderly couple, has been chosen for Muskoka International Film Festival. Laadam, starring Arumughan and Janaki in the lead, was selected from among 1300 films by eminent directors across the world, Pampally informed. Rosseau Cultural Arts and Project, which oranized the fete, selected Laadam for the August 28-30 event, he said. The film, narrated the story of an elderly couple hailing from Palakkad district in Kerala, bagging many awards in the country, he said. Arumughan and Janaki, who appeared for the first before camera, were selected as best actors at the Inset Film Festigal, held in Palakkad, he said. The couple’s son Prasad Arumughan, is the cinematographer of the film, which was the sole work selected for the U F O International Film Festival.
