The Committee for the Release of Political Prisoners (CRPP), Kerala Chapter, will stage a protest dharna before the Secretariat on August 14 demanding release of 115 youths arrested in the State under Unlawful Activities (Prevention Act) (UAPA).
Talking to reporters here, CRPP Kerala President P A Puran urged the government to treat 115 youths languishing in jails under UAPA as political prisoners and ensure their unconditional release.
He said the UAPA was used to silence people’s movement against attempt to mortgage the nation before capitalists and suppress rights activists in the country.
The dharna to be participated by friends and relatives of these people would be inaugurated by CRPP all India President S A R Gilani, he added.
