The Kerala Government will speed up efforts for infrastructure development and spruce up venues to host 35th National Games in the State, Panchayat and Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer has said in Kozhikode.
Talking at a function to review arrangements ahead of the games at the Collectorate here last evening, he said adequate arrangements for players and athletes would be made at different venues in the district.
Different sub-committees of the reception panel would meet here on August 7, 8 and 9 to chalk out to formulate plans for the smooth conduct of the games, he said. MLAs A Pradeep Kumar, C K Nau, A K Saseendran, NG Chief Commissioner Jacob Punnose, Reception Committee Secretary P A Hamza, District Panchayat President Kanathil Jameela, Mayor Prof A K Premajam ,District Collector C A Latha, Coordinator S Gopinathan, District Sports Council President K J Mathai, among others, would attend.
Kozhikode is scheduled to host football, volleyball, Beach Volleyball events at the Indoor Stadium, Medical College Ground and Kozhikode Beach during the games from January 31 to February 13, 2015.
