Infosys cofounder S Gopalakrishnan, the nonexecutive vice chairman set to retire in October, today said he would be looking to provide funds for innovative IT start ups in Karnataka and Kerala, ‘where he belong to’. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a CII function, he said he is looking at angel investing in technology startups in his personal capacity after retiring from the board of Infosys.
‘All I know is technology, so i will look at the whole area of digital, marketing, eretailing seems to be very hot. This and some other areas will interst me,’ the Former Infosys CEO said. He had recently donated USD 1.8 million to Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) of US to foster a research partnership with citybased Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He said studying the brain, the aging process of a human would take centre stage and study on diseases like dementia, Parkinsons will be taken up.
