About ten thousand titles would be on display at a book festival by the Kerala Bhasha Institute (KBI) beginning here on August 6. Talking to reporters here, Assistant Director S Krishna Kumar said 12 new works would be released during the sixday exhibition at the Police Club in the city. The institute offered a 20 to 60 per cent rebate for the buyers during the period, he said, adding this included 25 per cent to the purchase of above Rs 1,000, 30 per cent for above Rs 2,000, 35 per cent for Rs 5,000 and above, 40 per cent for Rs 10,000 and above, 45 per cent for above Rs 25,000 and 50 per cent for above Rs one lakh purchases. Indian Union Muslim League leader and noted orator Abdul Samad Samadhani would inaugurate the fete and release the books at a function to be presided over by KBI Director Dr M R Thampan, he added.
