National Food Security Act will be implemented in Kerala from October second. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here today, an official press release said. The project will be implemented by including the present BPL/AAY card holders and those included in the BPL list of 2009 but who have not received the same. Renewed cards will also be given along with this. Distribution of new ration cards have been stopped but temporary cards will be issued in case of emergencies. Prepopulated data cards will be distributed through all ration shops.
These will be collected from people by conducting camps. Affidavit which shows income limit must also be given along with this. Rationing inspectors will prepare list by checking data cards and will be published in panchayath level. Complaints can be registered before committees specially formed. If complaints persist, appeal can be given to the district collector. Distribution of data forms will start from September 2014 and will be collected from people through camps in October. Final list will be published by January 2015. All ration cards will be distributed within March one, 2015. Ration cards from now on will be issued in the name of senior woman member of the family.
