Yummy Aid 2014 showcases culinary skills of Techies

Employees at UST Global’s Technopark Center here came together today to showcase their culinary skills at ‘Yummy Aid 2014′. The proceeds from this event would be donated for a noble cause. The Yummy Aid 2014 food festival is organized by UST Global’s NowU (Network of Women Ussociates), which is an internal volunteer organization that spearheads the development and executive mentoring activities for UST Global’s women USsociates. This event had about 30 teams of enthusiastic men and women vying for the top honors in cooking. Yummy Aid 2014 witnessed multicuisine dishes being prepared and served aesthetically, and the best ones walked away with the prizes. Lekshmi Nair, celebrity culinary expert, television host and the Principal of The Kerala Law Academy, picked the winners. The event started with delivery leaders inaugurating the event with fun competitions like ‘Banana Splits’.

A variety of interestingly named food stalls were open all through the day, serving a variety of cuisines from local to continental. Elaborating on the unique food festival organized at the atrium of the Bhavani building of Thiruvananthapuram Technopark, Hema Menon, Center Head, Trivandrum, said, ‘Yummy Aid is a celebration of the culinary skills of UST Global employees. This annual food festival, organized by NowU (Network of Women USsociates), brings together all USsociates in Thiruvananthapuram, irrespective of gender and age, to serve for a bigger cause for the community. Each participant does his / her share for giving back to the community by creating yummy food, while having loads of fun. Every year more and more teams participate in Yummy Aid and this year was no different’.

According to celebrity judge and food expert Lekshmi Nair, ‘I am very happy to have come here. The techies have surprised me with their culinary skills. The sheer variety of the cuisine from typical Kerala cusine to north Indian to even Chinese, was a treat in itself. The important point of the event is that all the proceeds will go to charity.’ The annual food festival conducted by UST Global’s NowU, is the biggest gourmet event of the year at UST Global and Technopark. It lets UST Global employees have fun at work, showcase their culinary talent and contribute to a noble cause. Employees voluntarily form teams and on the Yummy Aid event day they create dishes which are evaluated by a celebrity / panel of celebrities. The dishes are sold and a major part of the proceeds is donated to charity.
