Social activist Dr Kunhahammed Kutty, Anganwadi worker Ragini and student S Surendran have been chosen for Syed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal Award for their contribution to different sectors.
Talking to reporters here, Kerala School Teachers Union (KSTU) President C P Cheriya Mohammed said Dr Kunhammed Kutty and Ayah Ragini were chosen for their award for their contribution to pallative care and anganwadi sector while Surendran got it as a child prodigy.
The award, instituted by the KSTU carrying cash prize of Rs 10,001, Rs 5,001 and 2,501 respectively, would be presented by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at a function in Thiruvanthapuram on September 24, they said.
Ministers K M Mani, Ramesh Chennithala, M K Muneer, P K Abdu Rabb, V K Ibrahim Kunhu, Manhalamkuzhi Ali, IUML leader E T Mohammemd Basheer, K P A Majeed and Syed Sadiali Shihab Thangal, among others, would be present at the function to presided over by IT and Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty, they added.
