Kerala had always been and continues to be a tourism trend setter with new initiatives, the latest being Responsible Tourism (RT).
The bottom line of RT, which was fist implemented at Kumarakom, Kovalam, Wayand, Thekkady and Bekal, was economic, social and environmental Sustainability with minimal negative impact and the Kumarakom Chapter had won the UNWTO, Ulysses Award for excellence and innovation in tourism as well as the National Award for the best Tourism.
Kerala Tourism as part of RT presents five Village Life Experience (VLE) packages at Kumarakom, Kovalam, Wayanad, Thekkady and Bekal which lets you experience the heart of Kerala.
These packages encourage the conservation of natural and cultural heritage sharing 95 per cent of its cost with the local community. It is a dream opportunity to explore, observe, discover, interact and learn.
