The case, filed by DMK General Secretary K Anbazhagan in 1996, was that Ms Jayalalithaa had amassed wealth to the tune of about Rs 65.86 crores disproportionate to her known sources of income during her first tenure as Chief Minister from 1991-96.
The Judgement was earlier scheduled for September 20 in the Special Court, but on a petition filed by Ms Jayalalithaa the venue was shifted to the makeshift court at Gandhi Bhavan near the Central Jail premises at Parappana Agrahara on the outskirts of Bangalore city.
Special Court Judge John Michaell Cunha had completed hearing of arguments from both sides in the case that was shifted to Bangalore in 2003 and 11 years later, the verdict would be pronounced today.
Police have made elaborate security arrangements across Tamil Nadu to prevent any untoward incident. All the Districts Superintendent of Police were directed to take all preventive measure to avoid any untoward incident.
