It’sofficial now: Team India cricket captain and an avowed football lover Mahendra Sigh Dhoni will be a Co Owner of the Chennai franchise of Indian Super League (ISL) Chennayin Friends FC. The announcement that Dhoni will a co owner, the third, after Mrs Vita Dani and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, will be made this evening at a function in Chennai, ISL organisers said.
Dhoni’s association with the Chenai franchise of ISL means that he would be cementing his sporting relationship with Chennai as he has been leading the local franchise of Inian Premier League (IPL) cricket Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Dhoni is also in the management cadre employee of India Cements, the owner of CSK, it may be recalled. The Chennai franchise of ISL was the last among the eight teams to be formed.
