About 450 delegates from across the state, Chennai and Bangalore participated in the 52nd annual general body meet of the Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) here today.
Noted media critic and former MP Dr Sebastian Paul inaugurated the meet at Snehanjali auditorium in the city.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Paul said the meet was relevant compared to previous conferences as journalists were facing many challenges.
The meet would be able to give a new orientation at a time when the media fraternity was facing challenges in the advent of competitions in the industry, he said.
Kerala Press Academy Chairman and former KUWJ President N P Rajendran, Reception Committee Chairman Kamal Varadoor and KUWJ Vice President G Vijaya Kumar, among others, spoke at the meet presided over by KUWJ President K Prem Nath.
General Secretary N Padmanabhan presented the report.
