1 more accused surrenders in Manoj murder case

One more CPI(M) activist, allegedly involved in the murder of RSS district leader Manoj, surrendered before a local court in Thalassery Kannur today. Nambiath Vinu (35), seventh accused, who was also a coolie worker of Kathirur, surrendered before the Thalassery District Session court around 1200 hrs.
Judge V Shercy sent him to judicial custody up to November 14. Total arrest in this murder case rose to six today. Crime Branch Special Investigation team (SIT), probing this case filed a report stating the names of seven persons and also filed that a total number of 16 member accused list before the court.
One Shibin of Kathirur, whose name was also filed by the SIT  on September 30 before the court, was still absconding. All the arrested persons, key accused Vikraman, Prabhakaran, Prakashan, K Jithin and P Sujith were lodged in Kannur Special sub jail.
RSS District Functionary Manoj (42), who lost control of his van after the assailants had thrown a bomb, was hacked to death by the unidentified assailants at Ukkasmotta near Kadirur in the politically sensitive Kannur district on September 1. His companion Pramod, who was also severely injured in this attack.
