3 Keralites of family killed as car rammed into tree

Coimbatore | Four persons – a footpath vendor, two women and owner-cum-driver of the vehicle – were killed when a car rammed onto a road side tree at Periyanaickenpalayam, about 25 km from here on Wednesday.
The occupants of the car– a man, his wife and mother in law, were returning to Karamadai, some 35 km from here from Palghat in Kerala, when the mishap occured in the evening, police said. The deceased are Moideen raj (Talent Raj-36), his wife Afsat (30), Afsad’s mother Hassanumma (50) and a pavement mirrors vendor Saibu (30) belonged to Karamadai Shirumugha area.
Moideen who was driving the car lost control of the vehicle when he tried to evade a pedestrian and hit the tamarind tree, police said. Under the impact, the two women in the car and the footpath vendor, selling mirrors died on the spot. Moideen succumbed to his injuries in a localĀ  hospital.
Moideen who reside at Karamadai Gandhinagar, had been running a garment shop named Talent tailors at Karamadai for many years. Eyewitnesses site over speeding the reason behind the deadly crash. The occupants of the car were returing from Kalladikode near Palghat in Kerala after attending the funeral of a relative of Afsat.
