Jaipur | Centre for Dalit Rights (CDR), an NGO in Rajasthan, today urged the centre to award Bharat Ratna to late Justice V R Krishna Iyer, in recognition of his admirable service to the down-trodden, voiceless, and marginalised groups.
Holding an obituary meeting here, P L Mimroth, Chairman of CDR, said the central government should award Bharat Ratna to former Supreme Court Judge Iyer in recognition of his admirable service to the down-trodden, voiceless, disadvantaged, and marginalised groups through his unique judgement and outstanding contribution in accordance to Human Rights values.
In a statement here, Mimroth said Justice Iyer had also rendered his services as an outstanding Human Rights crusader, Jurist, and revolutionary judge making important judgements in his career.
MP CM expresses grief over death of Justice Iyer
Bhopal | Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed profound grief over the death of eminent jurist and former Supreme Court judge Justice V S Krishna Iyer, it was officially announced here today.
Chouhan said that Justice Iyer was a custodian of dignity of justice. He promoted quality of justice and glory of the judiciary, an official release said. He was always keen to help the poor to get justice. In his death, India has lost a son who never let principles of natural justice be undermined, the release quoted Chouhan saying.
