Bengaluru | Three persons were injured, one seriously, in a ‘low intensity’ explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device outside a restaurant here tonight. Both the injured a man and a woman have been admitted to a hospital, City Police Commissioner M N Reddi told reporters. One was serious and the other out of danger, he said, describing the blast as a lowintensity explosion.
The blast occurred around 8.30 pm on the bustling Church Street in the heart of the city and it was caused by an IED, Reddi said. Police have cordoned off the area and mobilised additional forces, he said.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh tonight called up Karnataka Chief Minister S Siddaramaiah after a lowintensity blast in Bengaluru and assured all help from the Centre. Singh said the Karnataka Chief Minister appraised him of the situation. Spoke to Karnataka CM Shri S Siddaramaiah regarding the Bangalore blast. He apprised me of the situation. Centre ready to provide all help, Singh tweeted.
