Kochi | T.E. Vasudevan, the first recipient of coveted J.C. Daniel film award and an ardent film producer of yesteryears passed away today. He was 97 years old and survived by wife M.K. Radhamma and daughter Valsala.
Vasudevan popularly known as Jayamaruti Vasudevan has around 50 films to his credit produced by the film company Jayamaruti films owned by him. His distribution company Associated pictures was one of the pioneers in the industry and it distributed nearly 1000 films in languages from hindi to malayalam.
He also penned the script for a few films produced by his company. The debutant color film in malayalam Kandam becha coat was distributed by Vasudevan’s company. The funeral will take place at Thripunithura today.
