Kochi | Cochin Shipyard today launched the 13th of 20 Fast Patrol Vessels (BY 513) being built for Indian Coast Guard.
The vessel was named ‘ICGS ANMOL’ and launched by Shilpa Agarwal, wife of Rozy Agarwal, IDAS, Integrated Financial Adviser (Southern Naval Command).
Cmde K. Subramaniam, Chairman and Managing Director, Cochin Shipyard Limited, DIG T.P. Sadanandan, CGRPS (KOC), Capt R S Sundar, Director (Operations), CSL, D Paul Ranjan, Director (Finance), CSL and Sunny Thomas, Director (Technical), CSL and other senior officials of CSL and ICG were present. Rozy Agarwal, IDAS, IFA (SNC), laid the keel of BY-514, the 14th FPV.
CSL has delivered 10 vessels in the 20 vessel series and the 11th vessel is getting ready for sea trials. The tenth vessel ICGS AMOGH was handed over to Indian Coast Guard earlier this month, a shipyard press release said.
CSL has delivered, six ships this financial year consisting of five Fast Patrol vessels to the Coast Guard and one offshore support vessel to a Norwegian owner. The yard is also constructing India’s first indigenous Aircraft Carrier for the Navy.
