Thiruvananthapuram | All the top archers of the country have entered for the 35th National Games beginning in Kerala tomorrow. The final accreditation list confirms that 117 men and 111 women archers will participate. The list includes Arjuna awardees, Olympians, World Cup medalists, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games medalists and national record holders, organisers said here today.
Archery competitions of the National Games are classified broadly into three namely Indian Round, Compound and Recurve. Under each classification, individual and team competitions for men and women and a mixed event are scheduled, totaling to 15 events.
The renowned men archers who have confirmed their participation include Abhishek Verma (Delhi) an Arjuna Awardee and a World Cup medallist, Tarundeep Rai, Sandeep Kumar, Ch. Jignas and Khyam Bahadur, all representing Services, Rajath Chauhan (Rajasthan) an Individual Silver medallist in the World Cup at Turkey 2014, Jayantha Talukdar(Jharkandh), a Bronze medal winner in the World Cup 3rd Stage at Poland 2014, Mangal Singh Champia, Arjuna Awardee and Olympian from Jharkhand, Atanu Das, an Olympian from West Bengal and Kapil, an Olympian from Chandigarh.
