Thiruvananthapuram | Superstar Mohanlal today clarified that he is not receiving any fees for the musical programme, Lalisom-The Lal Effect, to be performed at the opening ceremony of the National Games here tomorrow. Addressing a press conference along with sports minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, he said the media report that he has charged Rs 2 crore as fees for his musical programme is baseless.
The superstar is being criticised since Sachin Tendulkar attended ‘Run Kerala Run,’ the promotional event of the Games, with out charging anything. Mohanlal said the cost to bring a large number of artists is so high. Singers like Hariharan, Udit Narayanan, Alka Yagnik would attend the event, he added.
The event would be a tribute to the masters of yesteryear, which include actors, singers and music directors from all over India from 1931 to 1980. Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the event.
