Nigerian girl sent to hospital suspecting ebola from airport; test nagative

Kochi | A nine-year-old girl, who arrived at the Nedumbassery airport along with her parents from Nigeria, was admitted to Ernakulam District General Hospital here, on the suspicion that she was suffering from Ebloa
Dr Vijayan, who was attending to the girl, identified as Zainab at the General Hospital, told UNI ‘ it is not a suspected case of Ebola. However, blood sample had sent for confirming this and the result is expecting tomorrow.
Ruling out the possibility that the girl was suffering Ebola virus, he said that the girl was suffering acute bronchitis and pneumonia quite for six months and were undergoing treatment.
The girls parents were here for undergoing treatment at a leading private hospital here for ortho  problem, and they were taken the girl along with them for treatment for bronchitis, he said.
Since Nigeria was declared as country of having Ebola virus country, the airport doctors suspected that the girl was suffering from Ebola, he said.
However, recently Nigeria had declared Ebola free country and the necessary orders in this regard was not received at the airport and that was the doctors conducted test the girl, he added.
