Kochi | Kerala warriors M Rajive and Abhita has moved to the semi finals in the mixed Indian category in the archery competitions in the on going 35th national games here today.
Kerala, which had earned 143 points stood at the fourth position, defeating Rajesh Manchi and Indrani Kujoor of Jharkandh in a stiff competition.
Though the Kerala had clear advantage in the first third round, did some error in the fourth round pushed the home team to the fourth position. Rajive was the winner of silver in the mixed round of 2014 senior nationals, organised by Archery Association of India and also gold winner in senior state championship.
Abhitha had also won the sate senior archery competition held at Kollam in 2009. However, in the women Indian category, Kerala girls surrendered before Manipur with just a point. Though the kerala girls Manisha, Abhita and Saranya put up a spirited fight, in the last rounds they lost to Manipur.
Though in the first round Manipur lead by six points, in the second round both were put up spirited fight and snatched one point by the hosts. However, unfortunately kerala lost the fourth and final round by one point, as the kerala girls eared 205 points against Manipur’s 206.
