Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala Swimmer Sajan Prakash picked up his sixth gold from the pool, as the hardworking lad pushed back Maharashtra boy Surabh Sangvekar to the second spot.
The Kerala boy won the gold with setting up of a new meet record of 3:57.16 second, in a neck to neck fight.
Till the last two heats, the Maharashtra boy was ahead of Sajan. But the determined Sajan, in a strategic move, surged ahead in the last 100 meters and continued the lead till he clinched the gold creating a new meet record.
With this gold, the kerala boy took his tally to nine medals, including two silver and bronze. With this victory, the home state picked up its sixth gold, that too presented by him. The silver went to Saurabh Sangvekar of Maharashtra, while the bronze went to Kerala boy Anandan, who clocked 4:3.97 sec.
