Kottayam | As the row triggered by alleged lapses and corruption in the conduct of ongoing 35th National Games in Kerala refuse to die down, state Sports Minister Thiruvanchroor Radhakrishnan today said the Congress-led UDF government was ready for any probe.
Talking to reporters here, Radhakrishnan said Sports Ministers from 2007 onwards were involved in the preparations of the games.
During the previous CPI-M led LDF rule, funds were diverted for constructing stadia which were not used for the Games.
Radhakrishnan also gave details of amounts spent for the construction of stadia during the LDF period.
The minister’s comments come a day after National Games Secretariate CEO Jacob Punnoose welcomed any type of probe into the alleged lapes and corruption.
Probe can be by CBI, Vigilance or by an Assembly committee, we are ready for it. All things have happened in a transparent manner and no irregularities have taken place, he had said but warned baseless charges would only weaken the morale of persons working for the success of the games.
