Thiruvananthapuram | Middle and long distance runner and Asian Games medalist O P Jaisha of Kerala today set yet another meet record to win the gold medal in the 10,000 M women’s race of the 35th National Games.
She finished first, a round ahead of her immediate rival and national record holder Preeja Sreedharan, with a timing of 33:08.55 sec to win the gold.
In that process, she uprooted the meet record of 34:28.26 sec in the name of Kavita Rout of Maharashtra set in 2011.
In the 5,000M also, Jaisha set a new meet record. Preeja Sreedharan of Kerala finished second with a timing of 34:58.85 to claim silver in the 10,000M. Swati Gadhave of Maharashtra came third with a timing of 34:59.73 to get bronze.
