CISF recovers 1 kg gold at Delhi Airport, 3 including keralite held

New Delhi | Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) today recovered one kg gold worth about Rs 28 lakh at IGI Airport here and three people were arrested in this connection.
At about 0915 hrs CISF surveillance & intelligence staff noticed the suspicious activities of a passenger. He was later identified as Milash, a resident of Kerala, who had arrived from Dubai, a spokesperson for CISF said in a statement.    He said CISF surveillance followed him as the passenger entered in a washroom near arrival gate number 3 of terminal-III.
At the same time, AI Singapore Airport Terminal Service (SATS) staff identified as Akhil Singh, a resident of Delhi, was also seen to have entered the washroom.
After coming out of the washroom, Akhil Singh was intercepted on the basis of suspicion and he was thoroughly frisked. On checking, 1 kg gold wrapped in the shape of mobile phone with black tape was recovered from his possession, the CISF spokesperson said.
On further inquiry, he revealed that the gold was handed over to him by Milash and he was supposed to hand over the same gold to one Jamsher Abubakr, a resident of Kerala, who was waiting near arrival gate number 3.
Jamsher & Milash were also apprehended in the instant case. All the three above mentioned persons were handed over to the customs officials with the recovered gold worth Rs 28 lakh by CISF, the spokesperson added.
