New Delhi | Two officials of the Petroleum Ministry were arrested today by the Delhi Police for leaking confidential government documents in a case of corporate espionage, sources said. Five persons, accused of theft and cheating, were arrested in this case today.
Delhi Police have arrested two petroleum ministry employees and three others for allegedly leaking confidential government documents. The information was allegedly to be shared with corporate houses and had details of policies used for pricing as well as imports.
Talking to mediapersons, Union Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, The police is investigating the matter, strict action will be taken against those involved. I won’t allow espionage to happen in my ministry, Mr Pradhan added.
Those arrested include some low rank government servants, police said. Police is probing the matter to get to those who have received this confidential information.
