New Delhi | By making it to the list of 50 inspiring entrepreneurs at The Economic Times India Entrepreneurship Summit on Thursday, the carnival has just begun for the Carnival Group chairman Sreekant Bhasi.
Others in the list include Azim Premji, Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Narayan Murthy, Kiran Mazumdar- Shaw, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Kishore Biyani, Sachin and Binny Bansal.
Sreekant Bhasi is also one of those 50 inspiring entrepreneurs who got featured in the coffee table book that was released at the ceremony held at The Taj Palace in New Delhi.
“It is a privilege to be a part of this coffee table book but there is a long way to go for us. There is no key milestone that we think we have achieved as yet and the day we believe we have; it would mean we have made a way for our competitors,” says Sreekant Bhasi the Kerala- born entrepreneur.
Carnival Group took a leap towards the end of 2014 with the acquisition of Big Cinemas from Reliance Mediaworks for about Rs 700 crore and a couple of other acquisitions which took the number of screens to over 400.
“Carnival Cinemas was a dream to change the cinema experience for the entertainment lovers in tier II and tier III cities. We are working towards it and we hope that in time to come people in towns and villages will no longer have to go to other cities to watch movies,” said Sreekant Bhasi.
For Sreekant Bhasi, it is his strategy, consistency and his vision backed by his hardworking team that has helped him reach so far. From being into finance department at Britannia during the last year of his college he moved on to agri- trading in the late 80s and then entered the world of entertainment. For any youngster aspiring to be an entrepreneur Sreekant Bhasi’s journey would certainly be an ideal example.
So here are the five pointers that he gave to the upcoming entrepreneurs in the coffee table book- dedication, consistency, perseverance, innovative and be a good planner.
