New Delhi | Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said a medical board has been constituted to probe into the alleged suicide attempt by four young athletes at a government centre in Kerala, one of whom has lost her life.
We have constituted a medical board (for the inquiry into the incident) and our priority is to save the lives of those athletes (girls), Sonowal said.
Fifteen-year-old Aparna Ramachandran died while three others are fighting for their lives in hospital after allegedly consuming a poisonous fruit under an apparent collective suicide attempt.
All four were undergoing training at Water Sports Centre of Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Alappuzha, Kerala.
