Kozhikode | Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) will help suspended pacer S Sreesanth to get back in Indian team if cleared by court in IPL-6 spot fixing scam case, Vice President T C Mathew today said.
Talking to reporters here Mathew, also Kerala Cricket Association President, said Sreesanth will be extended help to get back to Indian side.
The court has fixed a date to pronounce its verdict, he said adding ”let it come.”
Earlier the disciplinary committee of the BCCI had imposed a life ban on Sreesanth after framing of charges against him in the case.
A Delhi court fixed May 23 for pronouncing order spot fixing scandal case.
Mathew further said efforts were on to constitute cricket teams in all schools in Kerala. He said the KCA has started coaching students of 11th and 12th standards.
Stating Kerala has the highest cricket infrastructure in the country, he said separate cricket stadium will be constructed in all the 14 districts in the state by 2020.
Corporation EMS stadium will be developed as a cricket stadium with international standards if allowed by the Kozhikode Corporation, he said.
Mr Mathew said he was not against conducting football tournaments at the EMS stadium, but it could be given for cricket as football events were being held at Medical College ground too.
However, he said the KCA would construct a separate stadium for cricket in Kozhikode by 2017 adding land for the purpose will be acquired.
