Thiruvananthapuram | If traditional Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy are of interest to you, then an all-in-one venue is ready for a treat for four days in the state capital from tomorrow.
The National Arogya Expo 2015′ will start at the Poojapura Ground tomorrow. The May 21-24 expo is being organised by Ministry of AYUSH in association with World Ayurveda Foundation, Government of Kerala and Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology.
Free Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) Clinics for health checkups, Prakriti Pariksha, Nadi Pariksha and medication by specialists of the different systems of medicine will be functioning from 1000 hrs to 2000 hrs during the expo.
Apart from this, there will be focus on diabetes, women health, preventive cardiology, neurology and oncology. People from the various sectors including medical practitioners, diplomats, marketing strategists, professionals, policy makers, students, research institutes, ayurveda resorts, spas and institutions in service sectors will take part in the expo.
The expo will have about 300 stalls from 200 companies. As many as 17 stalls from under Ministry of AYUSH will display their products and services. The Expo has been organised aiming at fostering the growth of the six streams of medicine, and popularising it among the common man.
The initiative, which is being carried out on national basis since 2002, is first in Kerala, said the Chief Coordinator of the expo K Chandrasekharan Nair. AROGYA Expo 2015 showcases ayurvedic medicines, medicinal plants and raw materials, herbal extracts, equipment, instruments, allied utilities and publications by manufacturers and suppliers in the air-conditioned pavilions set up in the ground.
Many exhibits will display their unique products in the four-day expo, said Dr S Sunil Kumar, Secretary General, National AROGYA Expo. As part of reaching out and creating more stake holders seminars will be organised during the expo.
Seminars on Entrepreneurship in Ayurveda, Research in Ayurveda and Public Health will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively. As many as 700 delegates from various states will take part in the seminars. Workshops on Ayurvedic cooking will also be held on every day. The expo is open to all and the entry is free of cost.
