Kozhikode | The results of Aruvikkala Assembly By-poll in Kerala will be a pointer to the performance of the Congress-led United Democratic Front Government in the State, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President V Muraleedharan today said.
Addressing a party function here, he said the BJP will give tough fight to the Congress-led United Democratic Front and its arch rival the Communist Party of India (Marxist)-headed Opposition Left Democratic Front in the June 27 by-election.
The BJP, which had increased its vote from 6.4 per cent to 10.8 per cent in the last general election, will have significant role in the by poll, he said.
The by election was caused following the death of Assembly Speaker G Karthikeyan, who won on a Congress ticket.
