Thiruvananthapuram | Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader and Kerala Industries Minister P K Kunjhalikutty today said there is no evidence against Kerala Congress (M) leader and Finance Minister K M Mani in the bar bribe case.
The industry minister’s statement defending KM Mani in the bribe case came in the wake of the completion of the bar probe case by the vigilance department.
Kunjhalikutty also disclosed that the bar owners approached him to give bribe in the name of donation to party fund. There is no evidence against KM Mani in the bribe case as alleged by bar owners, he added.
It was alleged that KM Mani had collected bribe from bar owners to reopen the closed bars in the case.
To a question on intraparty fight in Congress, he said IUML would discuss the issue and meet Congress high command to resolve issues.
Meanwhile, Vigilance SP Sukesan told the court that the probe in bar bribe case was over, and the investigation report would be submitted to the court after its finalisation by Senior vigilance officials.
