Kannur | CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today rubbished media reports claiming differences of opinion among senior party leaders with regard to the campaign for Aruvikkara bypoll. He said opposition leader V S Achuthathananadhan will lead and participate in the upcoming Aruvikkara campaign including public meet and rally in coming days.
Addressing a meet-the press organized by Thalassery Press Forum, Mr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said Polit bureau Member Pinarayi Vijayan and Mr V S Achuthananadhan will lead the LDF election campaign at Airuvikkara in coming days.
He said the so called LDF convention on June 3 at Aruvikkara would be attended by only State Secretaries and Presidents of parties of LDF allies.
That is why both senior leaders would not attend the election convention. However a section of the media was deliberately creating controversies that Mr Achuthananadhan was not invited to participate in the convention- he said.
Mr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan also said if Mr VS Achuthananadhan came out with a complaint for not inviting him to participate in LDF convention on June 3, then party will settle the issue at that time.”
He also said the result of Aruvikkara By-election will be an evaluation of the last four year governance of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy led UDF Government.
