Kannur | Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said his government will take over the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital (PMCH) soon following the reports filed by the government appointed committee led by District Collector to assess the assets and liabilities.
The government has decided to continue the service of PMCH like the other Government Medical colleges in the state.The staff pattern of PMCH would also be fixed on par with government medical colleges and financial discipline will be ensured. The government’s plans of setting up one medical college in each district would be fulfilled, including Kannur district with the take over PMCH, he said at a mass contact programme here.
However, he still did not set a deadline for the process to begin. He also announced 19 programmes for overall development of Kannur district, including upgradation of Payyanur as a separate taluk, acqusition of land for laying of bypass connecting National Highway between Thalassery-Mahe and Muzhupilanghad to Valapatanam under three phases. These schemes would be speeded up, he added.
