Kozhikode | Private bus operators in Kerala will strike work on June 11 in protest against refusal to renew route permits of 12,000 vehicles in favour of public sector Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
Talking to reporters here All Kerala Bus Operators Coordination Committee Chairman T Gopinathan said the committee in its recent meet also decided to launch indefinite stir by withdrawing buses from July 1 if their demand was not met.
The committee, an umbrella organization of five outfits, also decided not to pay road tax to press its demand, he said.
The agitation will be intensifide by involving general public for, what they said, dampening the interests of private bus operators, who run the services well, to favour the government owned fleets.
The meet also decided to conduct march and dharna in district headquarters and awareness campaigns in all bus stands in the state, he added.
