Bangla Naval ship calls at Kochi port

Kochi | Bangladesh Naval Ship BNS Somudra Joy (Hamilton Class frigate) arrived here on a four-day visit to the Southern Naval yesterday.
Cmde Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhary, Director of Naval Training (DNT (BN)) is the Senior Officer on board the ship and Commander AKM Afzal Hossain is the Commanding Officer of the visiting foreign ship, a Defence release said here today.
Director of Naval Training (DNT (BN)) and the Commanding Officer accompanied by the Resident DA of Bangladesh Brig General MD Abdul Hamid, called on Vice Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, Flag Officer Commanding-In-Chief, Southern Naval Command and Rear Admiral RB Pandit, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command today, it said.
During the visit, various interactions with Southern Naval Command have been planned, it said adding that other interaction includes exchange of visits by specialist officers and men from both the navies.
Indian Navy personnel would be visiting the newly-inducted Bangladesh Naval ship and Bangladesh Navy personnel would be visiting the training facilities at Southern Naval Command.
Somudra Joy was presently on the passage to Chittagong after having participated in the Ex Ferocious Falcon at Bahrain and planned to depart Kochi on June 10, he added.
