Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala today said the Panur explosion that claimed the lives of two CPI(M) workers occurred during the process of making crude bombs.
The deceased and the injured persons were active members of the CPI(M) and they were also involved in several criminal cases, the Minister told the State Assembly today.
A search operations had been launched to seize country bombs from the politically sensitive Kannur district where National Security Guards had been deployed.Police recovered a steel bomb and bomb making materials from the area.
However, CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan made it clear that the party had no role in the explosion.
