Lucknow | Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said there is no compulsion to participate in the June 21 international yoga day and denied any role of his ministry in the arrest of Delhi Law minister Jitendra Singh Tomar.
There is no compulsion to join the June 21 international day for yoga and even Muslim countries are participating in it in a big way, Mra Singh said adding that Bangladesh and other countries have shown their keen interest in the Yoga.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Singh, who is on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency, said on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, United Nations have accepted the International Yoga Day and they should propogate the country’s move.
He also appealed to the people to join the day in a big number as it was not related to any religion in any way. Asked about the charges made against him in wake of the arrest of Mr Tomar, he said . Home ministry do not arrest anyone and it is the local police who does it.
Tomar, an AAP leader, was arrested today in Delhi in connection with his fake law degree-row. Mr Singh also appealed to Naxalites to join the main stream and sheen violence. They are the part and parcel of the society and hence they should also join the country’s development agenda.
Asked about the BJP’s prospect in the Bihar elections after an alliance was made between JD(U)-RJD-Congress, Mr Singh said the people of Bihar have already made up their mind to support the BJP and the next government would be of his party.
Earlier the Lucknow MP had announced a Rs 3,000 crore outer ring road for the state capital to be constructed by NHAI.
