Kozhikode | Aimed at exploring tourism potential of Malabar region of Kerala, a tourism development seminar will be held at Hotel Thushara International, Kodencherry in the district on Jun 13.
Experts in tourism field will present draft project reports in the seminar Jointly organized by Information and Public Relations Department, Kozhikode and the District Tourism Promotion Council, Panchayat member V D Joseph and Information Officer Khader Palazhi told reporters.
The experts presenting draft reports are Kainadi Plantation Chairman Roshan Kainadi (on farm tourism), Shahul Hameed on Hydel projects, Uranlookal Labour Contract Cooperative Society on environment friendly construction, Aero Sports Indian Chairman Safar Ahammed on airport, IL and FS senior scientist K R Gopalakrishnan on Kakkayam Peruvannamuzhi master plan, Tourism Department Empanel Architect P C Rasheed on South East Tourism Corridor and Federal Bank representative on funding of tourism projects, they said.
An open forum for enquiry and suggestions will also be held as part of the seminar, they said adding the project report would be submitted to the Kerala Tourism Department for follow up action.
Senior Congress leader M I Shahnawaz, MP will inaugurate the event to be presided over by C Moin Kutty, MLA. Kozhikode Collector N Prashant will deliver the keynote address.
People’s representatives in the hilly terrains, environmentalists, tour operators, home stay owners, epresentatives of tourism clubs and hotels would participate, they added.
