Thiruvananthapuram | Hilton Garden Inn hotel has received the Award from the Kerala State Pollution Control Board for its substantial and sustained effort in pollution control and for its initiatives towards environment protection through the year 2014.
The hotels initiatives included rain water harvesting, use of energy-efficient and environment friendly heat pump systems, highly efficient electrostatic precipitators, air purifiers, sewage treatment plant, recycling of water and the usage of eco-friendly refrigerant gases.
Since 1989, the Kerala State Pollution Control Board has presented pollution control awards to companies that adopt best pollution control facilities and operate these efficiently.
The awards are presented to entities in different industries including Stone Crusher, Dairy, Local Self Government Institutions, Hotels, Resorts, Government and Private Hospitals, and Print and Visual media.
Aryadan Muhammad, Minister for Power, presented the trophy and certificate along with a cash award to the team members from Hilton Garden Inn.
