Thiruvananthapuram | Giving a boost to its entrepreneurship drive, the Kerala government will deploy a Start-Up Box programme with the Kerala Start-Up Mission (KSUM) for aspiring entrepreneurs in the state.
The Start-up Boxes 40 in the first phase comprise the vital gadgets for mobile application developers to get started: a MacBook, iPhone, Google Nexus, Kindles, and Arduino starter kit, P H Kurian, Principal Secretary, Industries and IT, said here today.
This will enable entrepreneurs and startups to advance above the state of the art and create innovative technology products, he added.
While the programme is designed to distribute startup kits to various technology and industry verticals, this year it is kicking off with Boxes for mobile applications through Startup Villages FinTech programme.
This is a radical step in the states technology startup policy, said Shri C Jayasankar Prasad, CEO, KSUM. The Start-Up Box Programme will motive startup entrepreneurs to attempt new and innovative products by creating varied applications in different platforms.
KSUM is also providing evangelisation support through Technology Innovation Fellows, who will organise evangelisation workshops by tying up with Google, Microsoft, Apple and Amazon. KSUM is also arranging for Apple-accredited training centers to support developers.
